Simulation is a key to more efficient vehicle development. With shorter development cycles and increasing price pressure on the markets, shifting development tasks to an earlier phase of the development process is essential. In addition to increasing efficiency, simulation also solves the problem of the ever-increasing complexity of vehicles and their functions.

Frontloading is one solution to these challenges. We support and advise on relocating development steps to the left in the V-model and precisely define both requirements and specifications. The earlier the right parameters are defined, the more the efficiency and quality of the entire development process increases and the testing effort in the vehicle is reduced accordingly.

Development of an integrated development environment from simulation to testing

As part of our simulation environment, we support you in setting up your simulation environments and in developing an end-to-end tool chain from SiL/MiL to HiL and driving simulator through to testing. We have set ourselves the goal of shifting as much effort as possible from the right-hand side of the V-model to the left-hand side in order to significantly reduce complex setups, prototypes and testing efforts. With our dynamic driving simulator from Ansible Motion, we can completely redefine tests not only statically, but also dynamically, including full HiL integration. Simulation enables early insights and decisions as well as the evaluation of more variants and concepts, which optimizes the development process on the long run. Components, functions and the entire vehicle are brought to a higher level of maturity right from the start with our end-to-end solutions from SiL/MiL to testing. Our motto is: what is tested outside must also be simulated and vice versa. This means using standardized route, scenario, maneuver and KPI catalogs.

Simulation environment and driving simulator

Our driving experience place – the dynamic driving simulator – brings together simulation models and maneuver catalogs from road tests. Our methods enable you to integrate, validate and experience your models on the simulator. In this way, subjective impressions can be gathered at a very early stage, and the customer can also be involved in the development process by means of test person studies, which is currently too late in the real vehicle.
